Original Event Post

We are pleased to invite everyone out to participate in the 4th annual Chinook Salmon Penning Event to be held on April 7th and commencing at 12:30 pm at the Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park in Oakville.

Members of the community are encouraged to participate in the event and engage in Bronte's fishing heritage as the Association supplements the Salmon fishery in Lake Ontario.

Friends and families including small children will be engaged and able to release 15,000 juvenile Salmon to the penning stations where monitored feeding and biological imprinting will take place as the young Salmon grow.

A day of camaraderie and fisheries awareness is what makes this event an annual success! Come out and get involved with the Halton Region Salmon and Trout Association by showing your support this Saturday!

The fish are scheduled to arrive at 1:00 pm and we look forward to having you out! Memberships and volunteer opportunities will be available as well as the opportunity to pickup your CPR derby card, so don't miss out!

Don't forget, follow us on Facebook, and we are also on Twitter.
